Matchday Specific Terms
Document Version 3.1.1Last modified: 2020-11-12
1 Matchday Overview
1.1 Matchday Markets involve a Bet on a single Players’ performance, over a single Event.
1.2 A Player’s performance is judged by reference to the Scoring Table, specifically the defined Attributes of a Player in a specific Event will determine their Final Points Score.
1.3 You are betting on the Final Points Score of a pPlayer over a standard-length football game. Matchday Markets Bets apply to the 90 minutes plus stoppage/injury time only. They are not extended in the event of extra-time or penalty shootouts.
1.4 You can place a Bet by buying or selling Shares in Matchday Markets, but these Bets will settle after the respective Event, after which you will cease to have Shares in that Player. This differs to other SportStack Products, namely Career Markets.
1.5 In MatchDay Markets, you place a Bet on whether a Player will receive more or less points than a defined number of points (i.e. the price of the Share).
1.6 If you place a Bet that a Player will receive less than the number of forecasted points you will be deemed to ‘sell’ Shares of that Player and:
1.6.1 the Player achieves less than the number of forecasted points, you will win the Bet and receive your original Stake in return plus an amount of winnings equal to 1p per Share for each point difference between the Final Points Score and the original price of the Share;
1.6.2 the Player achieves more points than the original price of the Share, you will lose the Bet and receive your original Stake in return minus an amount of losses equal to 1p per Share for each point difference between the Final Points Score and the original price of the Share. You may lose your entire Stake.
1.7 If you place a Bet that a Player will receive more than the number of forecasted points you will be deemed to ‘buy’ Shares of that Player and:
1.7.1 the Player achieves more than the number of forecasted points, you will win the Bet and receive your original Stake in return plus an amount of winnings equal to 1p per Share for each point difference between the Final Points Score and the original price of the Share;
1.7.2 the Player achieves less than the original price of the Share, you will lose the Bet and receive your original Stake in return minus an amount of losses equal to 1p per Share for each point difference between the Final Points Score and the original price of the Share. You may lose your entire Stake.
2 Matchday Markets voiding procedure
2.1 There are important rules to note around voiding:
2.1.1 Bets on Players who don’t make the official team sheet as a player as a Starting 11 Player, will be voided within a reasonable time of the team sheet being announced.
2.1.2 Customers who have placed Bets (i.e. having bought or sold Shares) that SportStack later void in accordance with clause 2.1.1 will see the respective Stake returned to their Account, and losses or gains associated with that Bets on that particular Player in that specific Event written off.
2.1.3 Once all Bets on Players outside Starting 11 Players have been voided, substitutes on the team sheet will be re-opened for new trades. These newly created substitute markets will settle regardless of whether they appear on the pitch.
2.1.4 Players who do not appear in the Starting 11 or substitute list will be ineligibile for Bets until the next Event that Player is eligible for is opened up.
2.2 It is important to understand that occasionally team sheets are changed after their first release. This could be due to, for example, injuries being picked up during warm-up, or various other factors:
2.2.1 Players who feature in the initial Starting 11 on team sheet announcement and are subsequently changed to substitute will see Bets voided, before then being re-opened.
2.2.2 Players who feature in the initial Starting 11 on team sheet announcement and are subsequently changed to non-team sheet will see Bets voided.
2.2.3 Players who feature in the initial substitute list on team sheet announcement and are subsequently changed to Starting 11 will see Bets voided, before then being re-opened.
2.2.4 Players who feature in the initial substitute list on team sheet announcement and are subsequently changed to non-team sheet will see Bets voided.
2.2.5 Players who feature in the initial non-team sheet list on team sheet announcement and are subsequently changed to Starting 11 will be re-opened, but previous pre-team sheet announcement Bets will still be voided.
2.2.6 Players who feature in the initial non-team sheet list on team sheet announcement and are subsequently changed to Substitute will be re-opened, but previous pre-team sheet announcement Bets will still be voided.
2.3 There are additional circumstances outside the planned voiding of bets detailed in Clause 2.2 and 2.3 that may result in unexpected voiding of Bets, as detailed in the Terms and Conditions (including but not limited to voiding a Bet due to an error and detailed at section 7 of the Terms and Conditions).
3 Matchday Markets specific betting rules
3.1 One point on the Scoring Table equates to one pence (£0.01) in Matchday Markets. For example, if a Player scoring a goal is worth 20 points, each of that Player’s Shares accumulate £0.20 of value in the event of him/her scoring a goal. If a foul conceded is worth -2 points, each of that Player’s Shares loses -£0.02 of value if he/she concedes a foul.
3.2 The minimum settlement value of a Share is £0.00, and the maximum value is £1.00. In other words, a Share must settle between 0 and 100 points. By setting these limits, SportStack can define the maximum gain and maximum loss of any Bet. There are no margin calls on SportStack, no leverage, and this is not a spread bet.
3.3 If an Attribute takes a Player’s Total Points Score below 0 or above 100, new Attributes will continue to contribute to a Player’s Total Points Score, but will be adjusted at time of settlement if their Total Points Score ends below 0 or above 100. For example, Player X has accumulated 94 points and then scores a goal, his/her Total Points Score reaches 94+20=114 points. If the Event then ends, the final settlement price is adjusted to 100 or £1.00. It is your responsibility to understand these rules before placing a Bet.
3.4 Any on-screen indication of projected gains and losses excludes any Commission charges that may be due.
3.5 You will pay 4% Commission on net winnings per Player per Event. The Charges detailed in clause 3 of Terms and Conditions also apply.
3.6 Returns on winning and losing Bets will be rounded down to the nearest whole penny (£0.01), in respect of Bets on a specific Player in a specific Event). The 4% Commission will be rounded up to the nearest whole penny (£0.01).
3.7 SportStack will decide which Players/Competitions and Leagues to offer Bets on. Occasionally SportStack may put this to a Customer poll on platforms such as Twitter, the SportStack app and SportStack website. The result of these polls will not be binding, and SportStack will only consider the results when deciding ultimately which Bets to offer.
3.8 Matchday Markets will usually be opened up for Bets soon after the Player’s previous Event is completed and settled. Occasionally, if for example a Player potentially has two close matches that are considered back-to-back, Shares for such Player on the different Events may be offered simultaneously. It is the Customer’s responsibility to double check they are betting on the correct Event as mistakes cannot be rectified.
3.9 Alternative additional Bets may be offered in such an extension of an Event, but will be independent of the previous 90 minutes plus stoppage/injury time.
4 MatchDay Markets specific data rules
4.1 SportStack will aim to show the current points score for each Player intra-game. This will be relayed as live as possible but, is subject to delays. It is your responsibility for ensuring the state of the Event at the time you place your Bet.
4.2 The Scoring Table is subject to change between matches, but not intra-match. The Scoring Table in place when a MatchDay Markets Bets is taken will govern such Bet.
4.3 A Player’s position cannot change intra-Bet, but can change between matches and over a season. This will be entirely at SportStack’s discretion and does not automatically change on OPTA reclassification even though initial classification at the beginning of a season is taken from OPTA. A Player’s defined position is not subjective and does not change depending on the physical area they spend most their time on the pitch.
4.4 Once OPTA has confirmed the Collection End of the Event, we will cease to interpret any new or changes to existing Attributes. Amendments by OPTA after this point will not be able to be accounted for prior to or post settling Bets. No changes in Attributes, even High Scoring Attributes, will lead to a resettlement of Matchday Markets Bets. This differs to the procedure for other Products, namely Career Markets.
5 In-play betting rules
5.1 SportStack will try reflect in-play status as accurately as possible. SportStack rely on third-party providers to indicate that an Event is underway or ended. Given this, it is a Customer’s responsibility to check the status of an Event before placing a Bet.
5.2 We attempt to suspend and halt markets at the end of an Event. We cannot guarantee that the timings of these suspensions and halts will be accurate, and it is a Customer’s responsibility to check the status of an Event before placing a Bet..
5.3 SportStack will use third parties to confirm start and end times to matches.
5.4 SportStack aims to suspend markets at the end of each Event. You will then await settlement. Delays in third-party data feeds may delay this process.
5.5 Betting on the outcome of an Event after the Event has finished is not permitted. SportStack reserve the right to void both such Bets and then apply the normal settlement process to unaffected Bets.
5.6 MatchDay Markets Bets will be subject to an in-play delay of five (5) seconds and once such a Bet is requested it cannot be cancelled by the Customer.
5.7 SportStack will suspend buying or selling Shares on a material event occurring (e.g. goal, penalty, card, VAR). However, SportStack cannot guarantee timely suspension and any Bet placed is at the Customer’s risk and it is a Customer’s responsibility to check the status of an Event before placing a Bet.
5.8 Whilst not the case currently, in the future API Customers may be subject to different delays. For example, API Customers that provide new liquidity to the market and are not taking existing liquidity, may not subject to the same in-play delay.
6 Match details
6.1 Where teams are playing home and away, SportStack will endeavour to list the team playing at home first. It is the responsibility of the Customer to check this, and Bets will still stand if incorrectly listed in the wrong order. If the incorrect opponent is detailed, outstanding Bets will be voided.
6.2 Teams playing in a neutral stadium will be listed in either order.
6.3 Subject to clause 6.5, the following rules apply to Matchday Markets Bets:
6.3.1 Abandonment - If the Event does not conclude within thirty-six (36) hours of the scheduled start time, all Bets are voided.
6.3.2 Cancellations – If an Event is cancelled, Bets will be voided.
6.3.3 Postponements - If the Event does not start within thirty-six (36) hours of the originally scheduled start time, all Bets are voided.
6.3.4 Change of Opponents – If an opponent changes, all Bets are voided. Note this applies the team opponent themselves, not a specific player within a team.
6.3.5 Change of Venue – If a venue is changed, all Bets are voided and SportStack may try to create a new market.
6.3.6 Periods of Time – If an Event is cut short, it will be considered abandoned and subject to clause 6.3.1.
6.4 Should no information be given with respect to the postponement or delay of an Event, SportStack will decide whether to cease to permit further Bets and void outstanding Bets after 3 hours of the stoppage. Even if the match is rescheduled within the thirty-six (36) hour period, Bets will remain void if previously voided.
6.5 SportStack will settle the Bets that can be settled in the event of abandonment or postponement. Players that have been substituted off prior to the stoppage, or do not appear on the official team sheet, will be settled as per the normal procedure. This stands as long as the rules around not being allowed to be substituted off and then back on in a football match persist.
7 Matchday market errors
7.1 SportStack's general policy on Errors/Resettlement can be found in clause 7 of Terms and Conditions. Matchday markets have additional clauses to accompany those.
7.2 Bets will only be investigated by SportStack if an email is received by Support within 120 minutes of the relevant Bet being placed. Please provide as much detail as possible to allow prompt investigation of the claim.
7.3 Should a claim be successful, SportStack will endeavour to either void the Bets in the market, or amend the Fill Prices on impacted Bets. The action taken depends on the timing of events and will be at SportStack's discretion.
7.4 A Third-Party Data Provider may occasionally reassign High Scoring Attributes with a significant delay to the original. In situations where SportStack are alerted to such changes by a customer, in a timely manner as per clause 7.2, we will endeavour to take the action detailed in clause 7.3 in the relevant markets. Only High Scoring Attributes are considered for change.
7.5 SportStack partner with market makers to assist with liquidity in the Matchday exchange. Such customers are able to place multiple Bets simultaneously in single markets or across multiple markets. SportStack will investigate clearly erroneous mis-pricings of specific markets or Events and act accordingly. Communication will be made to any customers impacted in a timely manner - this may result in re-settlement or voiding or certain impacted Bets after the Event. This is particularly relevant when it concerns the pricing of starting-11 players, and substitutes, after the team sheets have been announced or altered.
7.6 SportStack reserve the right to investigate and rectify what it considers to be a clearly erroneous Bet without contact from either party. This helps us maintain the integrity of the exchange.
7.7 Users who wishes to appeal SportStack's decision on whether or not to deem a Bet as erroneous can do so by following clause 14 of the Terms and Conditions.
